TEHRAN - Salma Hematian of Iran won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Chess Championships held in Bali, Indonesia.

She finished in the first place in the Standard event in the Under-8 category.

Hematian scored 7.5 points. Indian chess player Charvi Anilkumar won silver, scoring seven points and Kazakhstan’s Sholpanbek Zhansaya came third with six points.
